Uniting Cultures Through Art & Diplomacy

"Art is the diplomacy of the soul."

— Madeleine ImKey, Founder

A Platform for Nations to Shine

Bridging Nations is a Swiss non-profit foundation advancing interculturality, inclusivity, and cultural diplomacy through the arts.

By bringing together artists with and without disabilities, institutions, communities, and diplomatic partners across borders, Bridging Nations creates cultural projects that foster dialogue, deepen mutual understanding, and strengthen international cooperation.

Each edition is developed in collaboration with host institutions, cultural partners, museums, foundations, and organizations serving persons with disabilities. These partnerships allow Bridging Nations to combine artistic excellence, social inclusion, cultural exchange, and the values reflected in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Through art, culture, and shared creation, Bridging Nations transforms difference into connection and gives each host nation a platform to shine.

Three Pillars of Our Mission

Inclusivity

Creating space for voices from all backgrounds, especially those too often overlooked.

Bridging Nations brings together artists with and without disabilities as active participants in the creative process. Persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities contribute alongside established artists, cultural leaders, institutions, and communities — not as beneficiaries, but as creators, collaborators, and voices of cultural expression.

Interculturality

Intercultural dialogue promotes understanding and collaboration between cultures, using art as a universal language. Bridging Nations celebrates diversity and builds connections that foster unity across communities and borders, while honoring each nation’s unique artistic identity.

Cultural Diplomacy

Art has the unique power to bring people and nations closer together. Through meaningful partnerships with diplomatic institutions, academic societies, museums, opera houses, foundations, and international organizations, Bridging Nations celebrates culture as a source of dialogue, friendship, and shared understanding. It creates inspiring spaces where visual arts, music, poetry, and performance strengthen cooperation, honor diversity, and build lasting bridges between nations.
